Week 8
Feb 22 2025:
Shoutout Mr. Powers from our Precision Machining Program helping us get some final parts that are much needed for our extension assembly. He programmed the blocks on his 3 axis HAAS mill down in his lab space.
We needed to remake our Coral game pieces because the material we previously used to manufacture our game pieces were regular 4in diameter schedule 40 pipe. We didn't notice the need for FOAM CORE until we compared our final parts to the ones FIRST provided in the KOP.
We found the limitations of self terminating feature of Kraken motors to be no more than 5 motors. We added a resistor to the end of the CAN network cable to self terminate our last motor so we can run our base as it is now. We will update the CAN wiring when we add more mechanisms.
Our wire labeling names the motors, PDH location, & CAN ID. We implemented this labeling system based on industry feedback one of our students learned during his summer work with Bugaboo Controls where he did industrial panel wiring.
Feb 24 2025:
We worked on our scouting system with a focus on how users will report the data.
We are looking to ensure our data collected is valuable to the drive team during their driver team meetings.
We also are looking for a simple pick list so we can make alliance selections within the 45 seconds and 90 seconds that the new rules updates.
Feb 25 2025:
We finished our cage and added orange powder coating to compliment our field.
